2011 May 20 - POWER AND COMMUNICATIONS ACHIEVES KNX PARTNER STATUS
Supported by hundreds of manufacturers, with millions of units installed globally and an internationally agreed standard, KNX is the global technology standard for Building Automation Control Systems : EN 13321-1, ISO/IEC14543-3, GB/Z 20965.
Installed in a building KNX enables the most powerful levels of automation plus control and substantially eliminates the need for expensive disruptive rewiring and redecoration that users of legacy wiring systems experience when changing functionality e.g. installing sophisticated lighting scenes to linking air conditioning systems to heating control. KNX is safer for users to use and offers strong capabilities to help businesses improve the way they manage things like lighting and reduce electricity consumption. Additionally KNX offers users an incredibly broad choice of sensors - from simple switches to elegant sophisticated touch screens including the iPad for controlling everything KNX connected in the building.
Historically customers who wanted to improve the quality of control and to reduce energy costs were presented with a bewildering flotilla of proprietary solutions many of which are now obsolete. The emergence of KNX as an open global standard supported by hundreds of manufacturers eliminates that confusion and presents customers with a clear way forwards and a solid future proof investment.
As part of its commitment to customers, Power and Communications is investing in a KNX development and test environment which will be used to help customers better define their requirements plus test customer solutions before they are shipped to site.
Power and Communications will be offering a one-stop-shop service to our customers where we install everything KNX and the electrical infrastructure. Alternatively we can work alongside appointed electrical contractors.
Power and Communications is targetting our KNX solutions at businesses but will also work with selected residential customers who either have a comprehensive specification or will work with us to build that specification.
